Tomorrow...

Tomorrow's the big day. I'm in the limbo stage of going, and if you know me you know that I don't do well at this point. I'm sad to leave everyone behind and feel like I'm missing a lot here. I just got to remember that I have so much to look forward to out in Europe and that it's going to be the time of my life. Hopefully this blog will serve as a sort of therapy for everything that I'm going through over there. I'm a lucky girl to have so many people in my life to miss, it's just going to be hard without being able to share it with all of you.

My fight leaves at 1130 for Philly and then I'll be in Madrid Friday morning. I'll update as soon as possible.

If you have any reason to call me my number is: 011 34 672 580 305

keep me posted on everything going on in your lives here please. Adios para ahora!

Preparation...

Hey everyone. I'm new to this whole blogging thing, so hopefully I don't my tales, adventures and sagas are enough to keep you all entertained.

Today's my last day of finals, and it's really just started to hit me that I am leaving for Spain in 9 days. I can't believe how fast it all crept up on me. For those of you that don't know, I'm going for 12 weeks as an intern in a school. The College of Arts and Letters at MSU has given me a scholarship to go over there and develop a multimedia portfolio about the differences/similarities between Spanish schools and American schools. I look at the opportunity as one that will not only benefit me now, but also in the future. I need all the help I can get in this economy to get myself ahead for job applications!!

The only information I have at this point is that I will be living in downtown Madrid with a woman named Carmen. She is 65 years old and doesn't have any children/husband living with her. At first glance, I was a little apprehensive about living solo, but I have since realized that it will be nice to have a grandmother-like-figure around to keep me company and hopefully more at ease.

At this point, I'm just trying to get my head around all that's about to happen over this summer. It's been really hard to say goodbye to all my friends at State. I feel like I'm missing out on a lot. But then again, I keep reminding myself about all the experiences I am about to have an get so excited about it all.

If any of you have been to Spain (and Madrid) I'd love to hear suggestions on where to go and what to do. I have a significant amount of time, but know that toward the end of it it wont be enough time. So let me know about the good things that I absolutely have to see.
